When Haruhi Fujioka, the 'scholarship student' at the prestigious academy of Ouran High School, accidentally breaks an 8 million yen vase belonging to the school's "Host Club", a mysterious campus group consisting of six super-rich (and gorgeous) guys, her life changes forever.
The Host Club sentences her to work as their dog in order to pay off her debt. They soon discover Haruhi's strikingly good looks and decide to let her work as a host instead. However, initially none of the members of the elite club notice one crucial detail... that Haruhi Fujioka is a girl!
Working with the Host Club in this unusual (and adorable) romantic comedy, Haruhi discovers just how wealthy the boys are and how different they are from everybody else. Everyone's fathers at Ouran High are prestigious people in famous companies, so therefore the parents pressure their children to get along in order to make allies for their own purposes. Not just for the "HOST" members, but the entire school's children have to do this also.
Kyoya Ohotori is the vice president of the Host Club, founded by his best friend Tamaki Suoh, who is the president. Kyoya is the one who basically runs the club, paying for expenses, buying costumes, and balancing the checkbooks. Kyoya is sly, clever, and mysterious, and will use others as he sees fit. As he says, "use whatever is at hand, be it friend or foe."
He has a very forward way of explaining things. Take, for example, the beach incident with Haruhi. You should not awake Kyoya, in fear for your life. Kyoya is the third son of his family, trying to prove himself to his father so that he can inherit the family business, which includes hospitals and other medical establishments.
Tamaki= Anna<3
Tamaki is the Host Club President or the King of Hosts. He is overprotective over women and believe that women should be happy. Tamaki could swoon a girl with a simple caring look and a few flashy words (also equipped with fake tear drops).
This King, after finding out Haru-chan was a girl, takes on the role of being Haru's "father" while at the same time liking her, and Kyoya is the "mother". This becomes obvious once he starts to put her in situations to dress like a real girl. It is also obvious that he likes her when she attempts to protect some girls at a beach outing (and he yelled at her for that) and even when Haru shows her fear of thunder.

Renge Hoshakuji is one of the supporting characters that seems to pop in and out of the series. She is a freshman at Ouran who enters a little after the beginning of the school year because of her obsession with Kyoya. Back at her home in France, after Renge's father shows her the picture of his business dinner with Kyoya and his family, she flies to Japan to search for him, as he looks exactly like her favorite character in a videogames that she has. She is so infatuated with him that she even goes so far as to say that he is her "fiance".
Unfortunately for Renge, the Kyoya of real life is completely converse to the Kyoya from the videogame. While the Kyoya from the videogame is sweet generous and understanding, the real Kyoya does nothing if there is no benefit. But despite this minor set back, Renge is determined to shower Kyoya with her love and make him feel the same, all the time stepping on the toes of the other club members. Kyoya politely asks the Host Club (mainly Kaoru and Hikaru) to put up with her because her father is an important business partner to his family.
Of the twins, Hikaru is a little older and a bit more in control of their yaoi-like acts. Before their "customers" with the host club, Hikaru tends to heal the little things from Kaoru, his twin brother, by giving off the famous brotherly love look to make the girls awe. In most of these situations, even not in public, Hikaru is, as Haruhi says, "one level rougher" than Kaoru. He is pretty possessive of both his brother and Haruhi. Although together, these twins are the Little Devil Type and love to be mischeivious together! It's hard to tell them apart.
Of the twins, Kaoru is a little younger and a little more innocent than his brother, Hikaru. In acts of making their customers happy, as their role to make all girls happy and amused, Kaoru and his brother put up their incestful looking acts of yaoi to make them go in awe. It's usually that Kaoru would end up saying or doing something clumsy on purpose (sometimes) and his brother would go to heal that problem with a kiss on the finger or just hugs and comments of the fake (maybe) night before. But Kaoru is also a bit smarter and not as possessive, he has even set Hikaru on a date with Haruhi once to try and configure his brother's feelings. Although together, these twins are the Little Devil Type and love to be mischievous together! It's hard to tell them apart.

Haruhi came to the fancy hallways of the Ouran High School as a commoner dressed in odd baggy clothes and throughout the entire first day as a boy! It wasn't until the end of episode one that the Host Club members discovered that just wasn't true.
Because she broke a very expensive vase out of clumsiness, Haruhi is in debt to the Host Club and therefore has to continue having the female customers thinking she is a boy so that she can earn money back for the vase. Although, Tamaki, the leader of the host club, protests a little for he wishes to see Haruhi in her female-ness she had before where guys were asking her out once a month in her old school. At the moment it seems that the Hitachiin twins and Tamaki seem to like her a lot. She had even went on a sort of date with Hikaru Hitachiin once.
Umehito Nekozawa (known by his last name) is almost always draped under a dark cloak, and carries around a cat hand puppet named Beelzenef. He's the president of the Black Magic Club, and avoids bright light, no matter what the source. In episode 11 it is revealed that he has blond hair, and always wears a wig to cover it.
Nekozawa's puppet is also available as a wooden doll, and the rumor is that if you write the name of someone on the back they will be cursed. Tamaki believes the curses, thinking he had one placed on him before.
hunny is a senior attending Ouran High with mori and Satoshi Morinozuka, who are also his cousins, and with his younger brother, Yasuchika Haninozuka. But he and Satoshi are in the junior high division of Ouran. For some reason, Yasuchika has a grudge against his own brother.
He's the loli-shota type host in host club. He joined the club with Takashi because Tamaki Suoh asked Hunny-senpai to help him create the Host club. And yet, he attracts many clients with his cute and adorable act. Both in anime and manga, flowers would appear every time he talks. He maybe cute and small, but he's pretty strong since he was a middle school champion in karate and judo.
He's a senior attending Ouran High with Hunny-senpai a senior who's also his cousin. Both of them are in the same class. The only reason why Takashi joined the Host Club is because Hunny-senpai did. He is a tall, tanned, dark, handsome, quiet guy. He's the perfect guy for girls looking for guys who have the same traits as Mori-senpai has. He IS quite popular with the ladies who goes to their Host Club. Like Kyoya said "His taciturnity is his selling point". But for some odd reason, he is labeled the "Wild" type host. He takes orders quite seriously and literally. You can picture him as a Siberian husky, strong yet a kind personality. So far the only one who calls him by his first name is Hunny-senpai, and Mori-senpai calls Hunny-senpai by his first name too. For generations, the Morinozuka Family served the Haninozuka Family, until a marriage between them blended the two families two generations ago. Still, Mori-senpai followed this tradition, serving Hunny-senpai.
